If Bruce Wayne was raised in the Game of Thrones world, what type of character would he be? by Trifon Trifonov
Answer by Trifon Trifonov:
He would still be Batman. Well a medieval version of Batman, a masked wandering knight who fights injustice and protects the innocent. The no kill rule is out of the window of course. Although he would be merciful to any enemy who gives up. Possibly would look like this:
Yes I am using this question as an excuse to post as many awesome Batman Knights images as possible. Sue me.
The reason why he will still be Batman is explained in Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader? by Neil Gaiman. In the comic we get to see the soul of Batman, accompanied by an unknown spirit, watching his own wake, as both heroes and villain tell stories about him. All the stories end with Batman dying. Soon we grasp that this is not necessarily one wake Batman is witnessing, but a merging of all the wakes that have been given for the fallen hero. Batman confront his mortality, but also he accepts that there is no such thing as a peaceful end for him. The fight will ultimately kill him, but he is the kind of man that will still fight even in the face of sure defeat. Finally in peace, he accept the help of the spirit that accompanied him, the soul of his mother, and moves on so he can reborn in another world. As his mother explains to him:
"You don't get Heaven or Hell. Do you know the only reward you get for being Batman? You get to be Batman. And – when you're a child – you get a handful of years of real happiness. With your father. With me. It's more than some people get. You're done, now, Bruce. This time. You can stop fighting now… just for a few more years. It's over. Let it go."
It doesn't matter when or where he is born. Bruce Wayne is Batman.
